[Class 141] [Also in Group XXV] In a swivel connection between two parts, one of which comprises a strip of webbing, the inner surface of the webbing which overlaps the other part is faced with a metal or other substantially rigid plate which is apertured to receive the pivot pin, and is formed with a series of teeth which extends .from side to side of the strip, and penetrates the webbing to relieve it from strain at the pivot. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, both parts 11, 12, are of webbing, and are faced with thin metal plates 13 provided with toothed flanges 16, and with apertures 14 to accommodate a pivot pin 15. Washers 17 recessed at the centre thereof to accommodate the heads of the pivot pin maintain the webbing close against the plates 13. Each plate 13 may be formed with side extensions 18 which can be bent over to embrace the edges of the webbing. The invention may be applied to braces, Fig. 4, in which the shoulder straps 25, 26 are pivoted together at 24. The rear buttonhole tabs 27 are secured detachably to a slotted metal plate 20 pivoted between the facing plates referred to above, and the front buttonhole tabs 33, 34, are secured detachably to buckle members. 29, 30, respectively, provided at the ends of the straps 25, 26. When the tabs are removed, the braces may be converted into a. belt, hook extensions on the buckle member 30 detachably engaging a link 41 secured to the buckle member 29, Fig. 8, to fasten the ends of the belt.
