Abstract

478,521. Conduit fittings. CATTLE, E. P. S. July 28, 1936, No. 20866. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A fitting for connecting a tube, standpipe, draw-box or other fitting, to a conduit of rectangular section, comprises a collar A into which the tube may be screwed and which has a spigot portion provided with projections E, F forming a groove D. The groove is of a width corresponding with the thickness of the conduit and of a depth to allow sufficient play for the spigot to be introduced into an opening in the conduit. The fitting is given a partial rotation to jam the projections against the side walls of the conduit and is locked in position by a set-screw H. Recesses are provided in the bush for engagement by a tool for rotating the bush.
