[Class 20 (iv)] An assembly for forming a roof, wall, or partition comprises purlins 5, thin metal sections 10 transversely disposed thereon, an outer casing 14, and an inner casing formed of sheets or slabs 6, the sheets or slabs 6 and the metal sections 10 being held between the outer casing 14 and the purlins 5 in such a manner that, viewed from the inside, the adjacent edges of adjacent sheets or slabs running in one direction are positioned behind the metal sections. The sheets or slabs 6 may be of fibreboard, asbestos board, or the like, and the outer casing may be in the form of corrugated iron or other sheet material. The purlins 5, as shown in Fig. 1, are supported by brackets 4 from a roof truss 1, and the metal sections 10, which, as shown in Fig. 4, are bent to an inverted-T-shape with stiffening channels 12, are arranged transversely across the upper flanges of the purlins and may be secured thereto by screws or the like. The stiffening channels 12 are cut away where the sections cross the purlins. If desired, the metal sections 10 may be employed without the central web 11 so that adjacent slabs or sheets are in abutting relation. A further form of metal section 11 comprises, as shown in Fig. 5, a flat web portion 20 connecting two trough portions 19 adapted to receive, slidably, wooden strips 22 secured to the sheets or slabs 6. The sheets 14 may be connected together at their edges by screws and may be secured to the purlins by hook bolts 16, screws, or wires.
