478,251. Dynamo mountings. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and HUYTON, A. July 14, 1936, No. 19517. [Class 35] A dynamo is angularly movable on a spindle carried by a bracket on a cycle frame, the bracket also carrying a spring-controlled pawl co-operating with a ratchet fixed to the dynamo and a finger lever is provided to control the engagement of the pawl and ratchet. In the form shown, the dynamo c is held in the inoperative position by the engagement of pawl with the tooth h of the ratchet g. When the lever k is moved away from the left-hand stop l its cam surface m removes the pawl from notch h by pressure on the pawl projection n and a spring coiled about the fixed spindle b and disposed in the generator casing then moves the dynamo into engagement with the tyre f. The movement of the dynamo is limited by the engagement of the pawl in the second ratchet slot i. Pressure of the lever k on the left-hand stop l rocks the dynamo about its pivot and returns it to the inoperative position.
