[Class 125 (iii)] Jaws 1 closing the mouth 5 of an elastic member 6 fitted to a bottle, tube, or similar vessel are actuated by a pivoted U-shaped member 9 swivelling on projections 10 so shaped that in the closed position they lie in recesses 8 between the contacting jaws while in the open portion, when the member 9 has been turned through an angle, they cause the jaws to be spread apart. The elliptical shape of the recesses 8 enables the jaws to be held open to any desired extent. The member 9 may cover the delivery aperture in the closed condition, side wall 11 with a handle extension 12 stopping it in this position, or the member 9 may be shaped to rest against the side of the jaws, the delivery aperture being left free for removal of extruded material.
