Abstract
476,547. Securing panels and glass panes. MACKENZIE, K. D., and MARCHBANK, J. June 23,1937, No. 17438. [Classes 20 (iii) and 20 (iv)] [Also in Group XXV] Glass panes 3 or panels are secured in a window frame 2 or the like by bead frames comprising channel-shape bar members 1 having inwardly directed flanges 6 which are sprung over the heads 4 of studs secured to the frame, the studs having neck portions 41 of a diameter and thickness which correspond with the distance between and the thickness of the flanges. The head of each stud is of truncated-conical, hemispherical, or like form, and the stem 42 slides or screws into a hole 5 in the frame. The adjacent ends of the bar members are connected by corner pieces 1<1>. Panes or panels lying in the same plane may be secured in position by bar members fitted to opposite sides of the web of aT-section frame member. The studs on one side of the web have stems which fit tightly or are screwed into axial holes in the studs on the other side of the web.
