Abstract
475,495. Air - line oilers. WALKER, W. J., and GIMKEY, S. F. April 20, 1936, No. 11312. [Class 12 (iii)] An air-line oiler has an annular capillary passage 3 situated between two concentric tubes 1, 2. Oil is fed to this passage from a reservoir 6 through an absorbent pad 10. The inner tube 2 is held in place by spring washers 12, these having perforations 13 through them so that the oil in the passage is subjected to a slight air pressure due to the flow of air through the pipe. The rate of oil flow can be varied by fitting other spring washers with different size perforations, or by fitting another inner tube 2 so as to vary the capillary passage 3.
