Lubricant conveyed by fiuid.-The reservoir of an air-line oiler consists of a number of sections B, C held together in a fiuid-tight manner bv the air pipe L threaded at one end to receive nuts S. Rotatably mounted on the pipe is a weight W, which establishes connection between the pipe and reservoir through radial passages T, an annular groove V, a ball valve j and passages p, q. Initially air passes through the ball valve to the reservoir, and the pressure on the surface of the oil forces oil into a recess X containing absorbent material. Pulsations in the air line cause periodic opening of the valve j with flow of oil in an atomized state into the pipe L. Air pressure in the reservoir is released by a threaded plug v of tapered section such that an outlet is formed with a passage w whilst the threads are still in engagement.
