Abstract
475,292. Electric signalling systems. INSTANTA ELECTRIC, Ltd., and THOMPSETT, H. A. Aug. 1, 1936, No. 21387. [Class 40 (i)] In a system for operating indicators as described in Specification 433,788, the operating keys are arranged in groups and group mercury switches are provided so that a signal is operated through contacts of both the common group switch and the individual switch. When a key 2 in any one of the rows is depressed the key is locked down and bridging piece 10 connects the corresponding pair of group contacts 15. Depression of start key 54 tilts lever 57 to move the lock 64 out of the slot in cam 39 and operates switch 62 to start motor 37. Cams 34 tilt group mercury switches 28 in turn so that the indication is given when the relative group switch is effective. The signals set up are repeated until the stop key 53 is depressed to reset bar 48. Lock 64 now rides on the surface of cam 39 until a complete sequence has been sent when the lock drops into the slot 65 and lifts member 40 so that the clutch 46 is disengaged. The switch 62 is also restored to stop motor 37. The depressed keys are released by key 25. Specification 427,040 also is referred to.
