Abstract
475,146. Vehicle sanding apparatus. PETERS & CO., Ltd., G. D., and NEGUS, G. H. June 11, 1936, No. 16317. [Class 103 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] In an electropneumatic brake system for rail vehicles, sand ejectors 39, 40 at the leading and trailing ends of each car are supplied with compressed air by a pipe 118 fitted with electromagnetically-operated valves 37, 38. The windings of these valves are connecting across a battery feed line 43 and a battery return line 44 by switches 41, 42 located in the driver's cabs at opposite ends of the car. By means of conductors 48, 49 adapted for connection to similar conductors on the other cars, the depression of the switch 41 or 42 operates the valves 37 or 38 on all the other cars.
