Abstract
475,082. Dynamo electric machine mountings. BRITISH BELTING & ASBESTOS, Ltd., and SYKES, F. Dec. 11, 1936, No. 34076. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXIV] To reduce bending action on the shafting, a driving member is carried on a frame or platform which is supported by and journalled on the driven member or vice versa, and a belt or like member interconnects the two members. The driving member may be a motor, the mounting of which is facilitated by the invention. The motor 2 is adjustably mounted on a platform 3 carried by a normally stationary frame 4 journalled by bearings 5 at one end on the line shaft 6 and, at the other end, supported from a fixed part 7 by links 8. One of the bearings 5 is preferably close to the pulley 10, which is driven from the motor pulley 9 by a belt 11. When the frame is detached from its fixed anchorages, it may be swung round to facilitate fixing or examination of the motor. In a modification, the frame 4 is vertical and entirely supported by the line shaft, and stop numbers are provided to prevent movement of the frame. The frame may be mounted at an angle.
