Abstract

474,324. Jointing tubes to plates. HAUSSAUER, L. P. Dec. 10, 1936, No. 33977. [Class 99 (i)] [Also in Group XI] An immersion heater is mounted in an elongated opening in a container 2 by means of a clamping plate 8 integral therewith and which screws into a fixing plate 3 of a shape and dimensions such that it can be passed through the opening and then turned to overlap the edge of the opening. Sealing rings 10, 11 are arranged between the plates and the container. The opening in the container is formed by a circular part 1 and circular parts 1a. To retain the fixing plate in position it is provided at one end of its major axis with ears 16 and a protuberance which engage the edge 1a of the opening and at the other end of its major axis with upstanding clips 18 which can be bent over to grip the corresponding edge of the opening. The portions of the plates overlapping the edge of the opening are made thin and of manganese bronze so that the plate will take up the shape of the tank. Specification 397,709 is referred to.
