Abstract

473,377. Control of several motors. JAMES, H. V., and TAYLOR, H. July 30, 1936, No. 21141. [Class 38 (iii)] The several units of a printing press, arranged to be grouped in different combinations, are driven by separate direct-current motors of the compound-wound interpole type, and paralleling connections 6, are provided between the interpole windings 4 to equalize the current in these windings and effect an equal distribution of the load. The motors have like drooping characteristics and are supplied in parallel. The series windings of the motors may be on the same side of the armature as the interpole windings.
