Abstract

473,199. Sanitary pails. FIEDLER, E. April 7, 1936, No. 10270. [Class 26] An attachment or fixture for a sanitary bin comprises a chamber 3 communicating with the bin and having a refusereceiving opening 9, a tipping platform 10 therein constructed with the portions on each side of the pivotal axis of unequal weights, and abutment means for limiting the movement of the platform. The platform may be moved by an external handle from the position in which it engages the abutment, which may take the form of a frame 15 or an inwardly-projecting edge, to a horizontal position in which it may receive an ash-pan 14 which is retained by holding-means. The chamber 3 may have an additional closurehood journalled on the pivots of the platform, and the abutment 15 or platform 10 may have a rubber beading. The platform is maintained in the horizontal position or against the abutment owing to the unequal weights of its two parts and in the latter position refuse may be introduced into the device and by its weight will force aside the platform and enter the bin, the platform then returning.
