Abstract
A flux coating for an arc welding rod of a metal of high thermal conductivity, such as of copper or copper alloy, consists of 50 parts of boric acid, 35 parts of sodium phosphate, 6 parts of common salt, 6 parts of cryolite and 3 parts of glass. The mixture may be dissolved or suspended in a varnish of alcohol and nitrocellulose. A separate coating of sodium oxalate may also be used.
