[Class 126] In a double-fronted stove with a single fireplace heating a living-room on one side of a partition wall and cooking apparatus on the other side of the wall, a heating chamber B which forms a hatchway between the two rooms is proportioned and located so that the width of the back wall H of the hot-plate E on each side of the hatchway is approximately one- - quarter of the width of the opening of the hatchway, and the doors of the hatchway on the cooking side slide horizontally and are divided into four portions D, D<1>, two portions sliding to one side and two to the other, each two portions overlapping so as to occupy the space between the side wall G of the hatchway and the side wall F of the hot-plate and leave the opening to the hatchway completely uncovered. Grooves or rails in the hot-plate and the lintel of the chamber guide the doors, which may have projections or feet for engagement with the grooves. Flanges J, L, M coact to cause the parts of the doors to move together. Specification 396,839, [Group X], is referred to.
