Abstract

A preparation for incorporation in a cleansing-composition comprises a mixture of (a) a water-soluble salt of an ester- or amide-condensation product (cf. Specifications 343,899, 366,916, and 386,966) of an aliphatic carboxylic acid containing at least 10 carbon atoms and a compound of the formula X--R--Y (wherein R represents an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aliphatic-aromatic or aromatic radicle, X represents OH or HNR1, R1 representing H or an alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl radicle, and Y represents SO3H or O.SO3H) and (b) an alkali metal salt of an acid sulphuric ester of an aliphatic alcohol containing at least 10 carbon atoms. Specified carboxylic acids are lauric, palmitic, stearic, oleic, montanic, dodecylmercaptoacetic, hexadecylhydroxyacetic, chlorinated fatty acids containing at least 10 carbon atoms, mixtures of higher fatty acids derived from naturally-occurring glycerides or obtained by oxidation of paraffins. Specified compounds of the general formula X--R--Y are b -hydroxyethanesulphonic acid, 1 : 2- or 1 : 4-hydroxybutanesulphonic acid, 1 : 2 or 1 : 3-hydroxypropanesulphonic acid, 1 : 6-hydroxyhexanesulphonic acid, p-phenolsulphonic acid, 4-hydroxytoluene-3-sulphonic acid, cyclohexanol-2-sulphonic acid, b -amino- and b -methylaminoethanesulphonic acids, b -aminoethanol sulphuric acid ester and b -methylamino-diethyl ether-b <1>-sulphonic acid. Specified salts of condensation products are the sodium salts of the palm nut oil fatty acid and oleic acid esters of b -hydroxyethanesulphonic acid, the potassium salt of the lauric acid ester of b -hydroxyethanesulphonic acid, the sodium salts of palm nut oil fatty acid and oleic acid methyltaurides, the sodium salt of palm nut oil fatty acid tauride and the potassium salt of lauric acid butyltauride. Specified salts of acid sulphuric esters of aliphatic alcohols are the sodium salts of the acid sulphuric esters of oleyl alcohol and of the mixture of alcohols obtainable by catalytic hydrogenation of coconut oil and the potassium salt of octodecyl sulphuric acid ester. The mixtures may be used in admixture with usual additions to soaps such as sodium sulphate, carbonate or perborate, waterglass, starch, perfumes, oxyethylcellulose and reaction products of sodium cellulose or sodium ethyl-cellulose with sodium monochloracetate or chlorethanesulphonate. The following examples are specified: (1) a preparation for use in washing greasy wool is obtained by mixing the sodium salt of the oleic acid ester of b -hydroxyethanesulphonic acid with the sodium salt of the acid sulphuric acid ester of oleyl alcohol and anhydrous sodium sulphate; (2) the sodium salt of palm nut oil fatty acid methyltauride is mixed with the sodium salt of the acid sulphuric acid ester of the alcohols from the hydrogenation of coconut oil; (3) the sodium salt of palm nut oil fatty acid methyltauride is mixed with the sodium salt of the acid sulphuric acid ester mixture obtainable by treating with chlorosulphonic acid in benzine the alcohol mixture obtainable by catalytic reduction under high pressure of oxidation products from paraffin; (4) the potassium salt of the reaction product of palm nut oil fatty acid chloride and metanilic acid in alkaline solution is mixed with the sodium salt of the acid sulphuric acid ester of (2) above and with sodium and potassium chlorides; (5) the sodium salt of a technical palm nut oil fatty acid methyl tauride is mixed with a technical sodium salt of the acid sulphuric acid ester of oleyl alcohol containing sodium sulphate; (6) the potassium salt obtainable by reaction of dichloro - stearic acid chloride in alkaline solution with the potassium salt of b - aminoethanol sulphuric acid ester is mixed with the potassium salt of oleyl alcohol sulphuric acid ester; (7) the sodium salt of palm nut oil fatty acid-N-phenyl- or N-benzyl-tauride is mixed with the sodium salt of dodecyl alcohol sulphuric acid ester; (8) the sodium salt of the palm nut oil fatty acid ester of b -hydroxyethanesulphonic acid is mixed with the sodium salt of the acid sulphuric acid ester of (2) above; (9) a preparation for use in cleansing linen comprises the sodium salt of palm nut oil fatty acid tauride, the sodium salt of cetyl alcohol sulphuric acid ester and sodium chloride; (10) a hair wash preparation comprises the sodium salt of the reaction product from coconut oil fatty acid chloride and b -methylamino-diethyl ether-b <1>-sulphonic acid, the sodium salt of monohexadecyl-glycol ether sulphuric acid ester, sodium sulphate and sodium chloride; (11) a liquid soap preparation comprises an aqueous mixture of the sodium salt of the reaction product from coconut oil fatty acid chloride and the sulphuric acid ester of b -hydroxyethylethylenediamine and the sodium salt of the acid sulphuric ester of an ether from diglycol and the mixture of alcohols obtainable by catalytic hydrogenation of coconut oil.
