[Class 6 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIII] A combined spade and hoe comprises a blade a carried by a nave c rotatably mounted in a head d on a tube g on the handle f, a body h movable up and down in the tube g and connected with a sleeve n slidable on the tube by a pin m moving in guiding slots o in the tube, a projecting key i on the body h adapted to enter one of a number of bores k in the nave c, and a rotatably mounted rigid locking device, and also a separate rigid abutment, for preventing the key from being moved out of the bore k. The body h may be locked in position by turning the sleeve n so as to move the pin m into circumferential extensions p of the slots o. The sleeve n may have a downward extension or extensions r to abut on a pin or projection s when the sleeve n is turned into locking position. The pin s may be inside the tube g so that the lower end of the body h abuts on it when rotated, a recess being formed in the body to receive the pin when the body is in its lowest position.
