Abstract

468,678. Photographic sensitive materials. KODAK, Ltd. Oct. 9, 1935, No. 27874. Convention date, Nov. 1, 1934. Drawings to Specification. [Class 98 (ii)] A gelatino silver halide emulsion has a wax dispersed in the emulsion or in a protein layer unitary therewith before coating on the support. Carnauba wax, natural waxes such as beeswax, Montan and cantol wax, mineral waxes, such as paraffin wax, and synthetic waxes such as chlorinated naphthalene and chlorinated diphenyls may be used. The wax dispersion in water is added to the emulsion along with a dispersing agent, e.g. triethanolamine oleate, the temperature being maintained at 40‹ C. “-25 parts by weight of wax to 100 parts of gelatine may be used. In a modification, a composite layer comprises an inner gelatine silver-halide layer over which is a layer of gelatine or casein with the wax dispersed therein.
