Abstract
468,646. Fastenings. HALL, W., HARLEY, C. E., and RIPAULTS, Ltd. Feb. 1, 1936, No. 3116. [Class 44] A fastener for bonnets of motor-cars &c. comprises a spring hook 2, and a catch rod 8 slidably mounted in slots 9 in brackets 6, so that when the hook is forced inwards, the rod 8 moves up the slots until the hook clears it, after which it drops into the hook and is returned to the front and of the slots by the hook spring pulling on the hook. The hook is disengaged from the catch by turning it through 90‹. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the catch is a perforated plate 11 which pivots on a bracket 15 against the action of a spring 12 when the hook is forced inwards, and drops into the hook when the latter has cleared it.
