467,722. Vapour burners. LINDMARK, J. G. Nov. 17, 1936, No. 31441. [Class 75 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] Liquid fuel such as methylated spirit in a reservoir 1 is supplied by gravity or pneumatic pressure to a vaporizer 4 fitted with a control valve 5 and the vapour is conveyed to a nozzle 9 discharging into a spherical burner head 8 through a coiled pipe 7 which carries and embraces snugly the burner head. The burner head is provided with flame apertures 10, 12 above and below the coil 7, and with an adjustable tube 11 for regulating the air supply. The vaporizer 4 carries a heat-absorbing plate 13. The burner is heated initially by burning fuel in a cup 14 connected by a channel 15 to a filling tray 16. This fuel may be withdrawn from the receptacle 1 by means of a measuring cup 18 suspended by arms 17 from the stopper 2. When the cup 18 is rested on the tray 16 a valve 21 at the bottom of the cup is raised and the fuel flows through a tubular outlet 19 into the tray. When, inserted in the receptacle 1 the bottom of the valve 1 is flush with the bottom of the receptacle. The extent to which the arms 17 are moistened forms an indication of the fuel level in the receptacle.
