Abstract
467,710. Making conveyer shoots &c. GEWERKSCHAFT REUSS. Aug. 20, 1936, Nos. 22975 and 22976. Convention dates, Aug. 20, 1935 and May 13, 1936. [Class 83 (ii)] Conveyer shoots and troughs are formed by welding together an outer sheet of steel which cannot be hardened, and an inner sheet of steel which can be hardened. A layer of steel a, Fig. 1, is secured to the interior of a shoot b for rubbish, and is then hardened, the layer b being of material which is incapable of hardening. Drilling is effected before the hardening operation. A conveyer in which scraper plates e, Fig. 3, engage has its replaceable walls and base formed of two-ply material of which the layer a only is hardened. A plate a<1> and if desired plates a<2>, a3 are welded to a plate b while flat, the secured plates are hardened, and the backing is bent to trough shape along lines lying between the plates a<1>, a<2>, a3. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the invention is applicable to other conveyer devices, such as buckets and trucks. The composite sheets may be secured as liners in worn conveying devices. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
