Abstract
466,859. Trueing grinding wheels. VOITH, W., VOITH, H., and VOITH, H., (trading as VOITH, J. M., [Firm of]). Dec. 6, 1935, No. 33839. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1934. [Class 60] The grinding-wheel A of a woodgrinding or other machine is trued by means of a tool C, for example, a notched roller, mounted on a holder B slidable in a cylinder E, which is movable parallel to the axis of the wheel A on a track comprising spindles D. The holder B is movable towards and from the wheel A by means of a screw F engaging a threaded bush e<2> in a cover e<3> and having a flange f<2> adapted to engage a piston G movable in the holder B. The pressure due to the screw is applied to the holder through liquid g<1>, and the pressure may be indicated or recorded on a gauge b<2>; the flange f<2> engages a cover b<1> to retract the holder B. In a modification, Fig. 4, the holder B is moved in a closed cylinder E, by hydraulic pressure ; the holder, in both constructions, is clamped by jaws e<6> moved by a lever H when the desired pressure has been applied. The stroke of the holder B is limited by a spindle b<5> and, in the construction shown in Fig. 4, cocks e<4>, e<5> serve to apply the pressure fluid.
