Abstract
466,824. Solenoids. OWEN, C. J., and WESTMINSTER TOOL & ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Dec. 20, 1935, No. 35323. [Class 35] A multi-layer electric coil has one or more pre-formed recesses in its cover or a part thereof fitting over the terminal leads which emerge on to the periphery of the coil through a hole or holes at the end or ends of the recessed portions. In the form shown, the ends of the winding are soldered to tabs on an anchor plate secured to the coil and the external leads C, C<1> are also soldered to these tabs. The winding is then enclosed by a cellulose cover E which has preformed pockets F so positioned as to cover the leads C, C<1>. The cover E may have an aperture G3 revealing an identification mark. The cover E need not extend wholly around the coil periphery but may be surrounded by an outer band with slots through which the portions F project.
