Abstract

466,584. Microphones. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., and SUTTON, G. W. Dec. 2,1935, No. 33354. [Class 40 (iv)] In a hand-microtelephone having a transmitter cover provided with apertures leading . to the interior, the cover is formed with a smooth surface over which the speaker's breath sweeps without being guided into the interior, and the apertures take the form of passages which have a sufficient slope backwards to prevent reflection of 'the breath into the interior. The cover 1 has inwardly and upwardly inclined slots 6 leading to a chamber 4 communicating with a further chamber in front of the diaphragm by an aperture 5 in a separator member 2. The transmitter inset is of the type comprising a diaphragm having a central conical portion connected by a flat annular portion to a further portion having the form of a frustum of a cone, as described in Specification 308,630, [Class 40 (iv)], and the separator 2 is formed with an upstanding portion 3 to engage the flat annular portion of the diaphragm. The cover 1 may be fixed to the inset container in the manner described in Specification 328,926, [Class 40 (iv)].
