Abstract

466,283. Chimney tops. WATSON, T. Nov. 30, 1935, No. 33266. [Class 25] A chimney pot comprises a multi-sided head portion 3 with openings 8 in some only of its sides turnably mounted on a stem 2 so that during erection of the pot the head may be set with the imperforate sides presented towards the most difficult winds. The head is surmounted by a multi - sided cap 4 having openings 11 in some only of its sides. The top of the cap is closed except for two slots 13 opposite to the open sides. The head is mounted on the stem by means of a depending flange 5 which rests on a rib 7 formed in the stem. Alternatively a ring 6 may be interposed between the flange and the rib so as to raise the head to uncover lower openings 10. Baffles 9 are arranged inside the head behind the openings 8.
