[Class 37] In a condenser the electrolyte comprises a " cryohydric " mixture. This consists of a mixture of two or more substances individually solid at room temperature, including one or more compatible water-soluble alkali or ammonium salts of an organic or carbonic acid (for example, one or more alkali or ammonium salts of formic, acetic, propionic, butyric, lactic, citric, oxalic, linoleic, tartaric or salicylic acids or carbonic acid), in admixture with other alkali or ammonium salts, or salts of other metals (for example, salts of lead, zinc or calcium), or molybdic acid, all of which, when admixed with one or more of the above alkali salts of an organic or carbonic acid, produce a resultant mixture which is liquid or semi-liquid at room temperature. Examples are given having the following constituents : ammonium acetate with one of ammonium borate, disodium hydrogen phosphate, ammonium oxalate, Rochelle salts, ammonium citrate, sodium perborate, potassium dichromate, potassium tetraborate, ammonium carbonate, calcium lactate or molybdic acid ; ammonium acetate with aluminium acetate and trisodium phosphate ; sodium acetate with disodium hydrogen phosphate; ammonium formate with ammonium salicylate.
