465,015. Sewing-machines. UNDERWOOD, H. C. June 5, 1936, No. 15827. [Class 112] The feed dog, presser foot, and throat plate of a sewing-machine are modified to facilitate the binding of collar and like edges with tape. The feed-dog 16 has a slot 29 cut in its feeding part to guide the binding tape 17. The tape emerges in the feeding edge so that the feeding edge portion behind it can effect its feed. The presser foot 14 has a spring 23 with a resilient finger 33 contacting a cut-away part of the feed dog, to form a guide for the edge of the fabric and tape to give correct alignment. The throat plate 15 has a cut-away trough 27 for guiding the tape 17 and a slot 28 for the feed dog.
