Multiple-needle machines; presser-feet; work guides.- The presser-foot of a multiple needle machine with a single looper for overlapping and seaming edges of fabric, has a slot 24 divided by a tongue 26, so that the upturned edges of the fabrics are separated during their passage to the trimming, lapping and stitching points'. The machine has the single looper, the hook for laying a thread above the fabric in the stitches, and the double feed dog usual for such work. The presserfoot has a rigid part 17 carrying the fixed trimming blade 22, and a resilient part 25. These parts border the slot 24 for the entry of the work. A finger 26 separates the slot into two channels, into each of which one of the upturned edges of the fabrics are guided. After trimming by the blade 22 and a movable blade in the usual way, the edge f is pushed down under the part 32 on the fixed part 17 of the presser-foot, Fig. 8, while the edge f<1> is guided by the under surface of the part 25 till it rests on the edge f under the fingers 21, ready for stitching.
