461,586. Hot - plate lids and plate racks and like shelf arrangements. SOUTH METROPOLITAN GAS CO., TEMPLEMAN, C. J., and SPAVIN, C. Dec. 12, 1935, No. 34536. [Class 126] [Also in Group XVII] The invention is an improvement on the similar device described in Specification 431,454 and, though described as applied to a gas cooker, is of general application. The lid 2, hinged to the hot-plate, table, &c., 1, is connected by links 11 to the plate rack, shelf, &c. 8, while links 6, pivoted to lugs 5 on the hot-plate, carry a rod 7 pivoted to the plate rack and having its ends guided in slots 9 in the lid frame. In the open position shown the rod ends 7 lie in retaining-notch extensions of the slots 9 and are maintained there by the pressure of springs 4 urging the lid towards its closed position. In the closed position the rack 8 and the links 11, 6 fold up flat within the lid.
