Abstract
461,524. Bottle closures. SCHILLER, F. W. March 9, 1936, No. 7132. [Class 125 (iii)] In a bottle closure 1 having a continuous or uninterrupted flange 4, which is held on to the neck of the bottle by rolling, crimping, &c., and a tongue 2, all integrally formed from thin sheet metal capable of being readily torn so that the closure may be removed by pulling with the fingers on the tongue to tear the flange and, if necessary, the cap, the whole, or substantially the whole, of the peripheral edge of the tongue is doubled inwards so as to form smooth edges 6 of double thickness for engagement by the finger nail of the person removing the closure. The tongue may be stiffened by corrugations 7. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1311 /04, [Class 125], and 406,534.
