461,312. Cathode-ray tubes. JONES, V. A., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd. Aug. 14, 1935, No. 35848/36. Divided out of 461,197. [Class 39 (i)] A mosaic screen for television and like apparatus of the type consisting of conducting elements embedded in a flat insulating matrix, opposite ends of each element appearing on opposite sides of the matrix, is formed by coating sheets of mica or other insulating material 1 with metal, and removing the metal along parallel lines by ruling, engraving or etching so as to leave a number of strips 3, shown in cross-section ; the sheets are then built up into a pile as shown to form the screen. To obtain a common electrode other insulating sheets with continuous metal coating 2 may be interposed between the sheets carrying the strips.
