Abstract

459,590. Projectiles. SKODA WORKS, PLZEN, 37, Jungmannova, Prague. April 6, 1935, No. 10689. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 8, 1935]. [Class 9 (i)] Consists in providing contour caps for dissimilar projectiles of the same calibre, such as impact, time, armourpiercing, and shrapnel shells, so as to make them all similar in shape and ballistic properties. The Figure shows an armour-piercing shell 5 fitted with a contour cap 6 which carries the centring ring 7 normally provided on the shell. The cap may be formed of steel or of light alloy. When the cap is made of soft iron, aluminium, or soft alloy, it is stated to act as a Makarov cap.
