Abstract
459,575. Torsion - springs. VAUXHALL MOTORS, Ltd., Kimpton Road, Luton, Bedfordshire.-(Opel Akt.-Ges., A. ; Reisselsheim-on-Main, Germany) March 23, 1936, No. 8601. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 26, 1936.] [Class 108 (iii)] A torsion spring system comprises a sleeve 3, a torsion spring 1 fitting tightly in the sleeve, and a copper or like bushing 2 inserted between a. part of the sleeve and a part of the spring. The bore of the sleeve may increase and the outer diameter of the sleeve may decrease towards the inner end of the sleeve in order to obtain a reduction of the specific surface pressure towards that end. The invention may be applied to the constructions described in Specification 433,764.
