[Class 20 (i)] Means for attaching cross-arms to poles or masts, more particularly tubular steel posts of the kind described in Specification 426,074, comprises a sheet-metal bracket A of substantially channel-shaped section, the base of which 11<c> is shaped to conform with the curved outer surface of the pole 9, and in the vertical side flanges 11<a> of which are formed slots for the reception of timber cross-arms or lengths of channel 12 in which timber cross-arms 10 are positioned, Fig. 1. The cross-arms and bracket are secured to the pole by bolts 13 which pass through registering holes in the cross-arm, channel, bracket, and pole, distance-pieces which enclose the bolts being inserted in the interior of the tube to prevent crushing of the walls when the securing nuts are tightened. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, tubular crossarms 17 are secured to the bracket by bolts 18, the heads of which bear against extended base portions 11f of the bracket. According to further modifications (not shown), the bracket may be welded to two-piece clamping members which encircle the post, or to complete rings which are slid into position over the narrow end of a tapered post.
