Abstract

459,368. Sewing - machine needles. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., LINEHAM, R. A., and CLARKE, G., Belgrave Road, Leicester. July 6, 1935, No. 19348. [Class 112] A curved-hook needle suitable for use in a machine such as described in Specification 447,680 has its barb 27 positioned on the left side of the needle looking towards the point, at a position nearer to the centre of curvative of the stem than the curved centre line of the needle. This brings the barb into a position as shown in Fig. 7, so that it catches the thread without reeving. Specification 317,921, [Class 112], also is referred to.
