Abstract
458,865. Portiere rods. CLAY, A., and WICKER, J. C., 21, St. Paul's Square, Birmingham. July 20, 1935, No. 20679. [Class 52 (v)] A box-shaped portiÞre rod 6 has a slot 6a in its rear face the supporting arm 5 which is pivotally attached to the door at 7, 8 being pivotally secured to a plate 10 which is adjustably secured to the rod 6 by tightening screws 11 which pass through the plate 10 and the slot 6a and screw into a plate inside the rod 6 to clamp the edges 6b of the slot 6a between this plate and the plate 10. A bracket 13 which receives the pivot pin 14 on the arm 15 which is attached to the door frame, is secured to the rod 6 in like manner the inner plate in this case being integral with an end stop 18 to which the curtain can be sewn or pinned. The other end stop may be secured to the rod 6 by means of a screw passing through a washer on the outside of the rod and through the slot therein to screw into a tongue attached to the end stop and arranged inside the rod.
