458,227. Stoppers for bottles. MARXEN, F., 57, Cicerostrasse, Halensee, Berlin. May 20, 1936, No. 14281. [Class 125 (iii)] A bottle stopper made from wood, paper - pulp, artificial resins, &c., has at least one annular groove c<1>, c<2> facing outwards from the bottle and the stopper is reduced in diameter towards the end al. A central cavity k may be provided and a grip collar d2. The annular grooves may be fitted with soft material such as paraffin, resin &c. The stoppers may be made by winding paper on a core, with the addition of a suitable agglutinant. Coatings of lacquer, wax, benzinecellulose may be applied to the stoppers. As shown in Fig. 8, the stopper may be provided with a pouring spout s<1> or Fig. 9, with a channel which is closed by a cover t<1> having a depending pin z. A knob or handle member may be added to the stopper.
