457,664. Universal joints. MOLLART, A. J., and HENDRA, J. C., c/o Mollart Engineering Co., Thames Ditton, Surrey. June 5, 1935, No. 16390. [Class 80 (ii)] Ball or like bearings 21 are arranged between the grooves 2, 3 in the solid ball-member 1, and the sides of the splines 6 on the divided fork-members 5, in joints such as those described in Specifications 418,541 and 434,834. The balls are carried in perforated cages 22, which have dovetailed or other interattachment at 23. The sides of the splines 6 are grooved to form raceways, and, together with the sides of the ballgrooves, may be radially inclined. In place of balls, rollers, tapered or needle, or hemispheres may be used.
