456,165. Walls. VERRALL, P. E., 49, Cleveland Gardens, Cricklewood, London. May 30, 1935, No. 15736. [Class 20 (iv)] A clip used in building brick, block, slab, or like walls comprises two overlapping parts C, D adapted to be placed on the upper surface of one brick or like member in the wall and provided with shoulders F, G, between which an adjacent brick or like member is positioned, the two overlapping parts being secured together in such manner that the width of the clip may be adjusted according to the width of the wall being built. Each of the parts C, D is of right-angled form, the horizontal arms being adapted to overlap on the upper face of a block and provided with a plurality of holes to permit them to be bolted together with the correct overlap having regard to the width of the wall. Each part of the clip is provided with a depending portion adapted to engage the face of the brick or like member on which the clip is placed. The clip shown in Fig. 3 is positioned at the upper corner of a block in the first course of a wall, the shoulders F, G being adapted to engage the adjacent block in the course. On completion of this course, the next course of blocks is laid with mortar bed-joints, each block in the second course being positioned, as shown in Fig. 4, between a clip A<1> provided on the upper corner of the previously-laid block in the course and a clip B provided on the lower course of blocks. Vertical mortar joints are provided in the wall.
