Abstract
455,448. Luggage-carriers. NORMAN, C. T., and NORMAN, F. G., c/o Kent Plating & Enamelling Co., Ltd., Victoria Road, Ashford, Kent. July 3, 1935, No. 19046. [Class 136 (i)] In order to facilitate collapsing and packing, a basket-holder for carrier cycles comprises a pair of closed-figure frames adapted to form the spaced top and bottom frame elements of the basket-holder, and a number of interposed distance-pieces detachably connected to the frames, the assembled holder being detachably connected to the cycle frame. The basket-holder comprises flat upper and lower frames 1, 2 detachably connected together by distance pieces 3 bolted thereto, two pairs of rearwardly-extending arms 1<a>, 2<a> being bolted or riveted by their flattened ends 11 to lugs on collars or brackets secured to the cycle frame. The ends of the distance pieces 3 fit over short lengths of tubing 4, Fig. 3, secured to the frames 1, 2, and bolts 5 are passed through the distance pieces and through holes 6 drilled through the sides of the frames 1, 2 and are secured by nuts 7. In a modification, the distance pieces 3 are fitted with threaded extensions at both ends, adapted to pass through apertures in the frames and to be secured thereto by nuts.
