Frames; spring devices.-The chain or bottom stay of a cycle, motor-cycle, &c. is formed as a triangular structure comprising two straight members a, d diverging towards the rear-wheel axle from a point b on the seat-pillar tube, or a short distance therefrom, and one or more members g, which connect the rear ends of the divergent members and so complete the triangular structure. As shown, the members are brazed or welded in lugs at the angles, and the spring wheel mounting described in Specification 140,882 is fitted between the lugs e, f. The member d may, however, be hinged to the lug b, the lug b being disconnectibly secured to the lower ends of a pair of rods which extend downwards from the upper lug and are disposed one in front of, and the other behind, the shock-absorber. The member g may be slotted for the wheel to work in. The triangular structure may also be a pressing with tubular or strengthened edges.
