Abstract
454,995. Sliding-clasp fastenings. BIGEARD, J., 21, Rue de l'Arboust, Nogentsur-Marne, France. Feb. 10, 1936, No. 4003. [Class 44] The elements 5 of a sliding-clasp fastener are of channel form each being provided with an integral hook portion 9 and are secured to the stringer tapes by the legs being turned at the ends 7 to engage behind the tape beading while inturned points 8 on the upper and lower edges of the legs pierce the beading ; a space is left between the beading and the base of the channel to receive the hook portion of the cooperating element on the other stringer tape. Fig. 5 shows a stamped blank for the element prior to being bent to shape. The parts 12, 13 may be bent to give suppleness to the fastener. The elements may have spacing fingers 10 extending in the direction of the length of the tapes and parts 11 may be turned inwardly to engage the front edge of the beading.
