[Class 120 (ii)] In yarn or thread winding machines the traversing-roller comprises two outstanding helicoidal ramps B, C, crossing each other, secondary ramps B2, C2 being provided at the crossings, as shown in the development of the roller in Fig. 5, to assist the passage of the yarn. The roller shaft may be driven through appropriate differential gear so that it is retarded at regular intervals to prevent ribbon winding.
