[Class 35] In a cycle dynamo of the type driven through a flexible shaft d from a pulley e contacting with one of the road wheels f, the pulley being carried by a pivotal support, the dynamo a and a dry battery n are housed together in a box l, on or in which is a switch whereby either the dynamo or the battery can be connected to the lamp circuit. The box l is fixed to the rear fork b and the flexible shaft d is connected to the spindle s of the pulley carried by a sleeve g pivotally mounted in a support h which itself is rotatably mounted by means of a pin i in a bracket f secured to the rear fork. The lower end of the spindle i is fixed to a shouldered washer t and a spring k acts to press the pulley e against the tyre h to hold the washer in engagement with the bracket when the pulley is turned into the inoperative position. The battery n may be in a separate compartment of the box which has a hinged or removable lid held by a spring clip. The pivotal support for the flexible shaft may be carried on the box.
