Abstract

452,663. Centrifugal machines. FISADCO, Ltd., 12, South Place, Finsbury, London. Feb. 26, 1935, No. 6179. [Class 23] [See also Group VI] A machine for washing and scaling fish has a stationary drum 1 and a rotary bottom plate 3 with a dome 6 at its centre and radial ribs 5 of triangular cross-section. The fish on the plate is thrown outwards to the wall of the drum 1 and is deflected towards the axis again by curved deflectors 16. The fish exert a scouring action on each other, and are sprayed with water from a, perforated pipe 7 which also has two nozzles 8 which spray the region of the deflectors. The slime and scale pass over the edge of the plate 3 to the box 10, their passage being assisted by water from a pipe 11. When the fish is washed, a hinged flap 13 in the drum wall is released, and the fish is thrown centrifugally through the opening to the shoot 15.
