Abstract
545,497. Scraping and washing vegetables. REIST, H., and SURBECK, E., (trading as REIST & SURBECK MAACHINENFABRIK). July 17, 1940, No. 11813. Convention date, July 17, 1939. [Class 28 (i)] The rotary body 8 which moves the vegetables over the roughened inner face 5 of the machine casing 4 is provided along its length with roughened ribs 9, 10 which project outwards to different extents and has a roughened bottom flange 11. The body 8 is driven either by an electric motor, in which case the feed to water sprayers 16 is independent of the motor, or by a water motor 6 driven by water from a pipe 14, in which case the sprayers are fed by the discharge pipe 15 of the motor. Water escapes from the casing through apertures 12 therein into a pipe 18. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the ribs 9, 10 may be of equal size. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
