[Class 3 (i)] Behind a stationary opaque sign facia 2 fitted with lens or prism - shaped translucent indicia 3, such as solid glass rods, is rotated a translucent disc 5 having a surface which is hammered or fluted or is ornamented in the form of ice flowers. Light from stationary or rotating lamps 10 is by this means given a flowing effect in the indicia 3. A colour filter 6 having one or more colours is formed on or attached to the disc 5 to rotate therewith. The discs 5 and 6 are mounted on circumferentially disposed rollers, which may be axially displaceable to adjust the position of the discs, and one, 7, of which is rotated through gearing 9 by a motor 8. The lamps 10, when rotated, may also be actuated by the motor 8, and may turn in the same or in the opposite direction to the discs 5, 6 and at the same or at different speeds. In a further form the discs 5 and 6 may be independently mounted, and may rotate in any relative manner. The sign casing 1 may be suspended, and a plurality of casings may be juxtaposed and their moving parts driven by a common motor. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also strip-like display surfaces and the replacement of the disc 5 by individual strips fixed to an endless moving band. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
