Abstract
452,520. Sectional piles. CONCRETE PILING, Ltd., 28, Victoria Street, Westminster, and LEIGHTON, J. M., Dalry, Helen's Bay, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. March 25, 1935, No. 9194. [Class 68 (ii)] [See also Group X] A method of forming columns by connecting together pre-cast concrete units consists in applying a thin bed 6 of cement or other jointing material to the end faces of the units, bringing one unit into abutment with another so as to be united thereto by said material, rigidly inter-connecting the exposed ends of the reinforcing bars, for example, by welding or screwed couplings 5, and closing the small pockets 4 with filling material, such as cement or concrete. The ends of the bars 3 may be flush with the end faces of the unit, or they may project slightly beyond, or be slightly set back from, such face.
