Abstract
450,829. Delivering measured quantities of liquids. BOWKER, R. P., 75, Charles Street, Sheffield. March 31, 1936, No. 9482. [Class 106 (v)] In a device for delivering measured quantities of liquids of the kind adapted to be attached to a bottle or like container and comprising a measuring chamber 5 arranged to be filled from a supply chamber 4 attached to the measuring chamber and in direct communication with the bottle, the pouring pipe for delivering the measured quantity from the chamber 5 is in the form of an elbow 6 upwardly inclined towards or beyond the vertical centre line of the device. On tilting the bottle, liquid flows into the chamber 4 by way of a pipe 2 and rises to the level of a vent pipe 3. On restoring the bottle to its normal position, liquid flows into the chamber 5 through an elbow 8 having its outlet adjacent the glass dome 5a of the chamber. On again tilting to pour out the measured quantity through the elbow pipe 6, air enters the measuring chamber by way of an air vent 7 and the elbow 8 and another supply of liquid passes from the bottle to the chamber 4.
